On 5 June, we celebrate World Environment Day, this year under the theme: “Beat Plastic Pollution – If you can’t reuse it, refuse it!” Many ASPnet members already have great projects for recycling and replacing plastic and can showcase and exhibit their work during the day. UNE prepared a Toolkit (in all UN languages) to help schools and teachers plan activities and events.
In partnership with UN Environment and the dancer and choreographer Blanca Li, an artist committed to sustainable development, UNESCO and the ASPnet Team cordially invite you to mobilise all your schools to participate in a global dance event to mark the day!
Blanca Li created a “Pollution Dance” and prepared an original video-tutorial which you can find here: https://youtu.be/D2ld41f2RE8
We hope that schools will start rehearsing, perform their dance on 5 June and post their videos or photos – with the “Member of ASPnet” LOGO! – on social media, using the hashtags:
#UNESCOASPnet, #WorldEnvironmentDay, #beatpollution, #Pollutiondance.
We look forward to seeing all your wonderful dances!
With best regards,
Unit for the Associated Schools Network (ASPnet)
